When it was first put into production, investors and studios alike didn’t have much faith that Star Wars would be a success. Now, over 40 years and 9 blockbuster films later, there’s no denying the vast and near-ubiquitous impact of this sci-fi franchise. And while much of that can be credited to its family-friendly, relatable storylines, much of its success is undoubtedly the product of the series’ iconography. From the black-clad Darth Vader to the vibrant-yet-deadly lightsabers and everything in-between, there are so many recognizable designs to come out of these movies. In fact, this week’s everyday carry pocket dump was inspired by one of their most iconic characters — the Stormtrooper. The anonymous soldiers of the Empire, Imperial Stormtroopers boast an intimidating and timeless visage, alongside an iconic black-and-white colorway that, for many fans, more than makes up for their horrendous aim and vile nature.
