ASTON MARTIN’S V12 SPEEDSTER IS A SLEEK 700HP HOMAGE TO AERONAUTIC DESIGN

Aston Martin’s influence within the world of aeronautics is long and storied, leading the company to adopt the same inspired design principles for their automotive variants. And while many of the proprietor’s cars can be linked, at least in some way, to Martin’s historic airborne lineage, the recently-announced V12 Speedster encompasses some of its most transparent details to date.

In association with the company’s bespoke customization service, “Q by Aston Martin,” the V12 has been conceptualized for enthusiastic drivers who are looking to pay homage to the brand’s history in automotive racing and aircraft design. Pulling recognizable traits from two of the company’s tried-and-true platforms, the DBS Superleggera and Vantage, the sleek, sensual Speedster introduces Sport+ and Track modes, a multi-link rear suspension, and independent double-wishbone front to keep its 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V12 engine relatively tame. At 700 horsepower, the V12 isn’t necessarily at the top of its class when it comes to power, but it more than makes up for it, thanks to a featherweight body that’s been constructed almost entirely from carbon fiber. Inside, the vehicle’s cockpit inspires intensive awe through the implementation of structural satin, hand-crafted Saddle Leather, and 3D-printed rubber peripherals. Look for the limited-to-88 V12 Speedster to launch in the first quarter of 2021 for around $983,48
