2018 RANGE ROVER VELAR

In 1970, Land Rover launched their first Range Rover model. In contrast to their agriculturally focused Series 1, it was intended to be a more city-friendly SUV (for lack of a better term). Since then, there have been only two other variations on the model – the Sport and the Evoque. Well, after eight years with just those three, the brand has finally announced a fourth iteration. And it might just be the best one yet.

Called simply the Velar, the first thing you might notice about this new Range Rover is its sleek exterior. That look is achieved by a combination of gradual curves, an integrated rear spoiler, and flush door handles (which extend mechanically when you need them). The interior is also loaded with new tech, including flush capacitive steering wheel controls, two 10″ touchscreens, and a windshield projected HUD. It also comes with your choice of three different engines – a 180 horsepower diesel, a 247 horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, and a 380 horsepower supercharged 3.0-liter V6. And, to top it all off, it has AWD and an optional perk called All-Terrain

Progress Control that allows you to maintain speed whether you’re driving through mud, snow, wet grass, ice, or dirt. The Velar starts at $49,900.
