BESPOKE VAN CONVERSIONS

Jack Richens of This Moving House, first started his business by transforming a second-hand 2012 Mercedes Sprinter, where he and his family of four can comfortably sleep, dine and unwind during adventurous holidays on the road. The cool camper uses space-saving boat design techniques to maximise its limited living space, such as the stacked beds that provide room for all four to sleep rather comfortably, and a porthole at the top bed keeps things open. The kitchen area is compact package, with a long, narrow sink, a two-burner stovetop, and just the right amount of counter space, whilst the dining area features the original captain-style chairs that swivel around. The interior of this impressive conversion feels spacious, with the curvaceous detailing making it feel very much like you´re onboard a ship of some kind. The cool camper cost about $10,000, with equipment and materials costing $8,500. You can read more about the construction process on This Moving House’s blog, and Richens has also started taking commissions to convert other vehicles into comfortable homes away from home.
