Originally released back in 2014, the PureBOOST was, for many, an introduction to the Three Stripes’ BOOST cushioning and a precursor of sorts to the craze behind the UltraBOOST. Now, after introducing the likes of the PureBOOST Uncaged 2.0, a Y-3 take on the silhouette, the PureBOOST X, the PureBOOST ZG Prime, and the PureBOOST Raw in the years since, adidas is taking the silhouette back to its clean, minimalist roots with a reimagined take on the style. Simply dubbed the PureBOOST, adidas Running’s latest model was inspired and created for runners who treat every run as a chance to explore. The PureBOOST features a versatile, agile and adaptive design to enable runners to endure anything the city environment has to offer.

Combining the popular BOOST sole unit with a knit upper that features Three Stripes branding integrated right into the knit, the shoe also features a Dynamic Heel Fit System and a unique nylon lacing system. The model’s 8mm heel lift and progressive sculpting of the BOOST midsole provides a wider forefront for optimum support when navigating turns and when facing sharp city corners. The outsole has also been built for the specific requirements of street running, with rubber extended on the medial side for additional support and to protect against the elements of the city. The Stretchweb design provides superior grip while allowing the foot to work in harmony with the BOOST midsole. The Dynamic Heel Fit System provides foot support while offering ventilation for a more comfortable ride. Meanwhile a new knit upper incorporates a highly adaptive upper construction that moves with the runner’s gait. The new Double Wrap Tongue construction provides support but also allows the foot to move in harmony with the upper.

The PureBOOST in black and white is available now in the U.S. at, with a black version dropping on January 25. The rest of the colorways for this adidas Running shoe will launch on February 1.
