NEW VANS SNEAKERS WILL STAND UP TO THE ELEMENTS
Vans canvas sneakers are a casual wardrobe staple for good reason: they’re versatile, durable and minimal. But when the seasons change and inclement weather becomes the norm, those classic Vans need a boost in rain/snow protection. The designers at Vans were aware, and thanks to some clever developments on these classics, you no longer have to shelve your casual kicks when the weather takes a dive. The new MTE line takes the same silhouettes you love — the Sk8-Hi, the Old Skool, and the Mid Slip SF, among others — and gives them the all-weather treatment.
The sneakers feature Scotchgard-treated uppers to defend against precipitation and a vulcanized lug outsole for extra traction in slippery conditions. To keep your feet warm, Vans added a heat-retention layer between the sockliner and the outsole, and lines each of the silhouettes in a cold-weather-appropriate lining. Other upgrades include reinforced toecaps and padded collar and heel counters for added support. So, as the warm months fade from memory, don’t sacrifice the style of your favorite sneakers. Slide on the new MTE shoes for those cold-weather adventures, and keep your dogs warm and dry.
