SANDISK 1 TERABYTE SD CARD

One terabyte is a huge amount of digital storage space. For reference, a single terabyte can fit about 500 hours of mid-range quality video with sound. Or 310,000 photos. Or nearly 86 million text files. It is almost certainly more data space than any single person needs. But, not according to the folks at Western Digital. They’ve managed to pare down that amount into the size of something smaller than a flash drive. That’s right, SanDisk has a working 1 terabyte SD card prototype.
Earlier this week the brand unveiled the newest in their line of Extreme PRO SD cards and demonstrated it at Photokina 2016, to a crowd full of leading professionals in the world of photo and video. Using proprietary technology, Western Digital has managed to nearly double the capacity of their revolutionary 512GB SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Memory Card that they released just two years ago. The company hasn’t set a release date, price, or any other data as of yet, but you can bet that if/when this SD card is released, it will be a game changer.
