HAS GARMIN JUST CREATED THE WORLD’S MOST LUXURIOUS SMARTWATCH?

Each month it appears another brand is unveiling a new type of smartwatch. Garmin is the latest, revealing its own iteration of the increasingly popular technology. But the American firm best known for its excellent fitness gadgets is attempting to separate itself from the rest of the pack by rolling out three new luxury-styled smartwatches. Although they appear different from one another at first glance, the three devices—Fenix Chronos Titanium, Fenix Chronos Steel, and Fenix Chronos Steel—all possess the same features and functions. Like most every smartwatch, each of the Garmins can track daily fitness activities (steps walked, distance run, calories burned, plus heart rate and sleep cycles). But the new products can also monitor and store such information as the number of laps swum, miles biked or rowed, etc., courtesy of a built-in GPS system. Each watch can connect to the Garmin Connect app and, like other smartwatches, send notifications via text message, phone call, and email. Behind the watch is a sensor that includes an altimeter, barometer, and compass. Garmin states on its website that the devices have up to 25 hours of battery life in the traditional battery-saving mode and as much as a full week in “smartwatch mode,” depending on the settings used.
